Looking for a fun introduction to baseball? DASH Sports T-Ball Tykes camp introduces players to key elements of throwing, fielding/catching, batting, and baserunning. The final day of classes is ‘Game Day’ and athletes will showcase their skills in a game environment. Athletes should bring a water bottle and a baseball glove. Baseballs and bats are provided. Parent participation is required for the 2-3yr old age group and recommended when needed for the 4+ year old age group.

Our Conquer Rec Team is designed for youth, ages 6-13 of all experience levels. Our Rec Team will practice on real obstacles inspired by the tv show such as warped walls, salmon ladders, tilting ladders and so much more during their weekly practice. Rec Team members will learn the styles and techniques to develop their Ninja Skills with over 40 different obstacles! This 8 week long Rec Team consists of 6 practices and 2 competitions (week 4 and week 8).

Ninjas develop strength and agility during this course by learning different styles and techniques to master all obstacles! We have warped walls, angled steps, salmon ladders, cliff hangers, tilted ladders; all Ninja inspired obstacles! Increase flexibility, coordination, and self-esteem that can be transferred into ninja levels testing or enhance other athletic performances. All classes are coached by an experienced Ninja Trainer.

In this camp students will be learning the basic knowledge about sewing and we will create projects from scratch. We will be using hands and sewing machine techniques. All materials included.

Boys and Girls Middle School Flag Football Program: This will be for boys and girls in grades 6-8 who will practice Monday through Thursday each week from September 10th through October 22nd from 2:45-4:15pm. We will try to form two teams per school for each of our middle schools. A shirt/jersey will be provided and teams will play a district wide schedule against other District #833 middle school teams. Students will need a ride to and from any away games that they play. Transportation will not be provided. All participants MUST have a sports physical on file at the Community Education office. Physicals are good for three years. All three forms that the doctor needs to complete can be found on our website at commed.sowashco.org under "Middle School Athletics". The Community Education Middle School Girls Volleyball Program for 7th and 8th grade students will emphasize skill development and team play. Students are instructed in the fundamentals of the sport and will participate in matches against schools within District #833. Volleyball will run from September 9th through October 21st, 2026. ***7th and 8th grade girls can/will be mixed together and placed on a team of similar skill level/ability.*** Participants will practice M/T/W/Th with no Fridays, from 2:45-4:45pm. Coaches will distribute a schedule at the first team meeting/practice, Wednesday, September 9th. Games will start at 3:30pm and end around 5:15pm. Transportation will not be provided. DASH Sports Soccer Camp Grade K - 5 DASH Sports soccer camps provide players a well-rounded soccer experience covering a broad range of soccer skills training (dribbling, passing, shooting, & defense) & skill-based games. Players will be challenged & grouped at an appropriate level while receiving instruction in a fun, positive environment while learning values of ‘Respect, Hustle, & Pride’. Camp ends with a scrimmage on the final day. Athletes should bring a water bottle (spikes & shin guards are optional). Balls are provided.

The State of Minnesota requires that driver’s education distance learning be conducted in a face-to-face platform, which requires that students have a video camera and audio capabilities on their devices. Safeway has chosen a secure Zoom platform to conduct the class. Safeway will be emailing the classroom handouts and 2023 MN Driver’s Manual in pdf format for printing. Students will be required to be in front of the camera and interactive for the full three-hour class. Community Education offers teen driver’s education in partnership with Safeway Driving School. Safeway Driving School has been graduating teen drivers in the Twin Cities area for over 45 years. Safeway’s only focus is creating safe, responsible teen drivers. Classroom and behind-the-wheel lessons emphasize defensive driving techniques tailored for the inexperienced teen driver while targeting to influence the invincible teen attitude. All of Safeway’s instructors are licensed by the Minnesota Dept. of Public Safety. Classroom instruction prepares the student to take the Minnesota permit test and begin the responsibility of driving. The 30 hours of classroom is structured into 10 independent lessons. If a student misses a lesson, they can make up that exact lesson number at the next session or at one of Safeway’s other locations. Students can take the class at age 14 but cannot take their permit test until age 15. After class is completed, students who are 15 years old are eligible to take their permit test at any Minnesota exam center. Students over the age of 18 do not have to take driver education. Behind-the-wheel instruction includes six hours of driving in three, two-hour private lessons. All driving is done in a Safeway car on city streets, highways and freeways with a responsible, licensed Safeway instructor. Safeway recommends students take their first lesson 2-3 weeks after receiving their permit card. At least 30 days of practice between lessons is suggested. Students have one year after completing classroom to finish their behind-the-wheel lessons. Scheduling is offered online for 24/7 convenience. All of Safeway’s cars are white with identical graphics so parents and students are confident that it is a Safeway car picking up the student for a lesson. Students can get picked up for their behind-the-wheel lesson from home, school or work. Parents/guardians will be required to complete Safeway’s Account Verification. Safeway will be sending out an email before class begins that gives detailed information about how to login to the student’s Safeway account to verify and complete contact information and to review and acknowledge our Service Agreement. Parent involvement is required to produce safe, responsible teen drivers. It is critical that parents practice regularly with their student drivers. The state requires that students have a minimum of 50 hours of practice (15 hours at night). The practice time must be recorded on a state-approved Supervised Driving Log and presented at the road test. Safeway offers an in-person Parent Class that qualifies the student for reduced practice time (40 hours/15 hours at night). At a minimum, Safeway strongly encourages parents to review its parent information and watch the online Parent Class videos at www.safewaydrivingschool.com. Cost of the teen package is $455 and includes the classroom and behind-the-wheel lessons, and all materials. There are no hidden charges or additional fuel surcharges. Pay in full upon registration or choose the payment plan: $285 payable to Community Education upon registration and $170 (two payments of $85 each) payable to Safeway at the behind-the-wheel lessons.
