Yellow Sky: Easy Bob Ross Oil Painting - with Henry Jay RuppCreateSurprise yourself by completing an oil painting in just one night! The Bob Ross method makes it easy and fun. Our Bob Ross Certified Instructor prefers to paint with people who have no experience painting, don't want to paint, or who can't draw stick men. If you are one of the “anti-artist” types, you will have the most fun and be the most amazed! If you are an experienced artist, welcome. There is always much to learn. The “Joy of Painting” may be the highlight of your year! All materials provided including paints, a 16" X 20" canvas and painting supplies. Your painting will be ready for you to frame and put on your wall at home when you finish. To find out more about your instructor, visit jayrupp.com. This four hour class will go quicker than you think, but feel free to bring snacks. Minimum age is 18+. (Students age 15 - 17 years old may register with a registered adult.) Join us for a level 2 "improver" session! If you haven't taken the beginning six weeks of fun but have past experience, you would be welcome to register too. Expect a similar mix of songs from the 70's & 80's (such as classic dance songs from Abba, Grease, Footloose, etc.) as well as the 90's - current hits, old time big band or swing, country songs and more! Adult Pottery - Hand Building & Wheel Instruction with Stoneware ClayCreateIn this three session class, participants will be introduced to basic techniques of hand building, throwing on a potter’s wheel, and glazing. Using stoneware clay and earth tone glazes, participants will create pieces of art using an electric wheel, slab roller and extruder. The first two sessions are devoted to creating and the last session will focus on glazing. Both new and returning students are welcome. Participants are encouraged to bring an apron or towel. Savor, Stroll and Experience Hudson on a Guided Food and Walking TourCookHudson Food Walk guided tours offer a fun way to explore Hudson's thriving food scene and experience all this quaint river town has to offer. During the three-hour tour, guests learn about Hudson’s rich history, stroll along the banks of the scenic St. Croix River and make stops at six popular downtown destinations to enjoy a true "taste of Hudson" and nearly a dozen food and drink tastings. Tours end on a sweet note at Knoke's Chocolates & Nuts for a sampling of handmade signature chocolates and ice cream. Tours begin in the lobby of the Phipps Center for the Arts (109 Locust St, Hudson). Current destinations include Pier 500, Barker’s Bar & Grill, St. Croix Baking Company, Pedro’s Pizza Lounge, Knoke’s Chocolates & Nuts and Grand Fete or Black Rooster Bistro. *Destinations could be subject to change.
